Hello all,
A couple of problems..
1) According to Swanson...
Batchelor and Grand, the two private investigators were "acting conjointly with the Whitechapel Vigilance Committee and the press"
According to the A-Z...
Batchelor and Grand were "EMPLOYED by The Whitechapel Vigilance Committee and cartain newspapers (incl. The Evening News) to make enquiries following the night of the double murder."
Acting conjointly is NOT employment. Can someone please tell me where did the A-Z get this from? Is it correct? Is it assumption?
and...
2) Alexander Carmichael Bruce [Senior Assistant Commissioner]
WHY did he did NOT attend Berner Street or Mitre Square or the writing on the wall at Goulston Street?
He was at the scene of Buck's Row and Hanbury Street, in his capacity as Andersons acting Top Man in the CID whilst Anderson was on his sojourn...
Yet they get Commissioner Warren out of bed in the middle of the night..but apparently not ACB, top CID man.
I find these two things very odd.
Any thoughts all?
best wishes
Phil
