May have found something but need help

Hi, I was doing some Ripper research the other day (on the internet) and found a very interesting document that I need help with. I would first like to know if the info is discovered or undiscovered and secondly (if it is valuable info) where to go next. Any (genuine) help would be appreciated. Thank you.

but you're being a bit vague. What is it you have found, or where can we look for ourselves? It's not really possible to give our opinions if we don't know what you are referring to.

Sorry if I sound vague but I dont want to post the info on a public forum becuse it will probably be crummy info and I will get laughed out of the forum. I am just trying to find someone in private to tell me if the info is relevant. As I stated "Where to go next".

If you found the information on the internet then its probably already been seen or at least talked about on these baords.

There is however an the outside chance you have something that nobody on this site has seen yet.

Dont be worried about being laughed at or criticized here. some will do that no mater what you post but there are more people here that are professional and will give you an honest opinion.

It may be helpfull if you could say what area your infornation pertains to as there are many people here. some have great general knowledge and others that have experience and knowledge in specific areas.

I don't understand your problem...
If you've found something, just produce it...and stop pussyfooting.
Then we'd see if it is really something new / interesting, but in any case, you would be thanked for sharing it.

Tricky indeed!!!

I don't believe you would be laughed at as such if it legitimate information.

However without knowing the details I would advise that you have a read through the info on this site. You may be able to gauge the worth of your info by what is on this site. This site has to be one of the best around for Jtr research and info.

Take a sample of the text of which you have found and google it, see if it shows up elsewhere. I have found stuff in the past, posted it, and found it elsewhere, it happens to all of us.

OK here it is. I have found a chap in 1891 who sent threatening letters to a prostitute. Not very interesting so far but heres the weird bit:

1 - In the letter he says about a man who killed seven or eight women on the streets of Whitechapel and basically says if detectives couldnt catch him how can they expect to catch me.
2 - The letters were written in red ink.
3 - He lives slap bang in the middle of Whitechapel.
4 - The guy was stopped and search carrying a bag, in the bag was a gun, a whistle, a knuckle duster and some paperwork but no knife Im afraid.

I have google the guys name and can find very sparse info but nothing about this document.
