    Meaning in Saucy Jacky Postcard...

    What does "I was not codding dear old Boss when I gave you the tip"

    according to the dictionary, codding means lustful, but that doesn't make sense in the postcard in my opinion..

      It means,

      There is a theory that it was written by an Irish person, or someone pretending to be/ imitating an Irish accent.
