That was the murder of little John Gill, found on the morning of the 29th December 1888 in a narrow back street close to his home, Manningham, Bradford.
His legs had been removed and his torso mutilated, however his face and throat were intact, the press at the time believed the removal of the legs was done to assist in the disposal the body. There was no barrel involved, the body was packaged up using the young lad's braces and coat.
