    Chris, he seems to have given magic lantern shows and to have invented something called a stereoscope which looks like it might have been a kind of 3-D device.

        There's a book "The American Screen to 1907" by Charles Musser on Google books - I think it's a volume in the History of the American Cinema.

        Yes, I wonder whether all Cromwell's stuff is in some museum somewhere in America.
