    Hi all,

I have recently been reading the excellent "Ultimate Jack the Ripper Sourcebook" by Stewart P. Evans and Keith Skinner and found the following term in chapter 33, p600,

"He stated that he came from SBG"

Does anyone know what SBG actually means? A modern google search shows some sort of kick boxing association!
    Regards Mike

              Hi Mike

I had to contact SPE about something else, so I have asked him if he might be able to elucidate what SBG means.

                      Southsea Boy's Guild?

Southern B******'s Getogether? Probably not for Jack's time. I'll be interested when you find out what it means.

                          Hi Robert,

I thought of St. Matthew's when you posted, but then saw this in a summary guide to a local archive:

                          S/SBG
Records of the Shoreditch and Bethnal Green District
                          Nursing Association
                          1945-1965 5 items

                          So Shoreditch/Bethnal Green?

                          Cheers,
                          Dave

Dear me, you lot are Some Bloody Good!

I have had several suggestions, sent via here, jtrforums.com and even an excellent one from facebook. Am checking dates etc to see if any where actually established in 1889, and if so will post findings on here.
                            Thanks for your help folks!
                            Regards Mike
