Point of detail, Ken: Bury strangled his wife with a rope, stabbed her a few times and cut a short wound (by Ripper standards) in her abdomen. It's quite possible that the knife-wounds were inflicted after she was dead - they were certainly inflicted after the cord had been used to strangle her.

In point of fact, the Ripper's style (if he had one at all) generally didn't involve that amount of knifing or stabbing; he was a "cutter" in the main.
    Kind regards, Sam Flynn

I had a thought related to Toms details on Le Grand...do we know for certain exactly what started the Docks Fire?

Tom, and Kensei...good stuff, thanks. Im not so sure that a poisoner "pre-ripping" denotes a violent act Kensei, nor neccesarily post-ripping poisoning....look how long it took Maybrick to poison himself, and Chapman seemed in no hurry in his doses. Tumblety strikes me as a coward...I think he may have been guilty of his accusation in Nova Scotia. Its sadistic, no doubt, but violent? In my opinion, no.

Prior knife men would be A list I would think, or as Tom suggests, men known to torment Unfortunates.

      Cheers folks,...thanks for the contributions.
