You all may have seen these already but I did find another about a man named Williams that killed in Australia and he had been in London during the murders.

Another with the man named Deeming confessing he was JtR - and lots of other "he fit the description articles" too.

        Hi BK,

Very interesting! Why can't they ever give us the names or the facility?!

        Thanks.

        Best,

        Cel

            Hi Amber
            many thanks for the reports
The Forbes Winslow report was widely published and seems to be a variant of his earlier Bell Smith story of Sun Street, Finsbury. Note that in his earlier story he said that Bell Smith (or Bellsmith) was Canadian and worked for a Canadian company. In the later versions of this the vestige is the Canadian mocassins which he claimed were the Ripper's shoes or overshoes.
Some versions claim that the asylum to which the suspect was confined was the "Dartmoor" asylum.
Williams was one of the aliases used by Deeming (another was Lawson) and the earlier reports on the Australian murder call him be this name. By the time of the reports of the Rainhill murders he is usually referred to as Deeming.
            All the best
            Chris
