Aye, Pirate, a little entertainment then -

      List ye, jovial sailors gay,
To the rigs of Ratcliff Highway.

I fell in with a lady so modest and meek,
She eats thirteen faggots and nine pigs feet,
Three pounds of beef, and to finish the meal,
Ate eight pound of tripe and an old cow-heel.

I met with another borne down with fear.
She guzzled down thirteen pots of beer.
She threw up her heels and played the deuce,
And broke her nose at Paddy's Goose.

You jovial sailors, one and all,
When you in the port of London call,
Mind Ratcliff Highway and the damsels loose,
The William, The Bear and Paddy's Goose.

You sailors bold my song obtain,
And learn it on the raging main.

            Cher Lionel,

When you refer to that superb novelist, Mme Herfort, are you referring to her recently published thriller, Club? Since Club only appeared in October, you joined the Casebook in October and now you have started a poll to see which author is better, Mme Herfort or Ms Cornwell, one may be forgiven for thinking you may not be a disinterested party in this matter. I stand, of course, to be corrected.

For those who are not aware of it, Mme Herfort's editors have announced her new book as follows:

Briefly, it is about a recently married couple in London in 1892 who found a very exclusive Club dedicated to the training of serial killers. The blurb doesn't explain how the Club selects its members, or how it advertises, but apparently it is soon flooded with applications for membership. Lionel, will you kindly let us know a bit more about Mme Herfort's novel?

            Cheers,
            Hook

Do not accuse people of being sock puppets. If you have a suspicion, contact the administration and allow them to deal with it. Public accusations undermine the credibility of posters who might be innocent, and if you are wrong, undermines your own credibility as well.

I should think so too. Suzi is a member of the Menagerie so if you rub her the wrong way you'll have a whole zoo load of trouble camped on your doorstep.

Actually thinking about it I don't think there is a wrong way to rub Suzi!!!!

Anyway back to the subject of the thread. Is this Lionel chap the one on 'Allo 'Allo?

                            Bodlam,

I believe it is the same as a marionette in the sense thst it is controlled by someone else. On the boards it is the suggestion that a poster with an agenda either has a confederate pushing that agenda for him or, in some instances, is the actual poster using another name.

                            Don.

I voted Cornwell. Despite thinking she is completely wrong about Sickert, I do have a lot of respect for her and her research. As for Sophie.... Well despite not being able to read her book, I can only guess what it will be like based on little tid bits I have heard of and well, can anyone who suggests ol' Melville as a suspect be taken seriously? Who knows, I shall judge when I can read it, which I hopefully will be able to. But I don't hold much hope to be honest, which is why I picked PC.
                              Best regards,

                                Yep!
and Sophie Herfort has already used this strategy...
Curiously, all Lionel Jospin II's posts are about Herfort.
Some time ago, Herfort was supposed to have solved the case, but now her supporters are claiming that her book was actually a novel... In other words, we have been stupid, just like those who took "Gordon Pym" as a genuine travel's narrative.
What a joke! Where is the "suspense" in Herfort's book? Can Lionel Jospin tell us?
Herfort once dreamt to be Cornwell.
She's shifting now to Michael Connelly.
Actually, "Jack l'Eventreur Démasué" should have been a novel. Sophie could have used her little knowledge of the case to write a fiction naming Macnaghten. This would have been quite pleasant.
Instead, she chose to abuse the reader.
And now it's too late for the novel's desperate argument.
