Thanks to one and all ( to Casebook too, for posting these messages).....
Our Maintenance Crew tells me this :

It's just been fixed. It was an update, part of the change for the new vB that's required to run it, that took down the entire server.


Unfortunately the error took place around the same time that half sites on the server were hacked by the ISIS assbags, which is why it took longer.

Time to lock and load....
