I think it's safe to say we have the same idea of what kind of person Jack was in terms of age, appearance and how he went about getting his victims to go with him to the places of their murders (assuming it wasn't the victims who took him there).

Given the innate suspicion of the upper-classes that had been exacerbated by the suggestion that the killer may have been a doctor, a well-spoken voice and the impression of education may have agitated the suspicions of the prostitutes who were used to local non-descripts. Fundamentally, the appearance of an educated, overly charming outsider would have pandered to natural fears of the unknown, and such a person was at a disadvantage when procuring prostitutes when compared to your local grocer or baker.

Whatever Mrs. Long's impression was, the fact that she only acquired a fear-view sighting increased the chances of it having been a mistaken impression.

I'm not saying he was a toff or a highly educated, overly charming person. He was just a person who managed to avoid putting off bad vibes long enough to put them enough at ease to go off with him.

Just thought it'd be interesting to see how old you guys thought Jack the Ripper was at the time of the murders.

For me, I'd say around 36. I honestly don't know why but I always pictured him to be around that age.

Well he had to be either 24 or 72 years old since he was clearly either Prince Albert Victor or Sir William Gull. Wait... sorry... lost my mind for a second there!

I'd have to say he was around 36 years old and probably not as nimble as he once was!

If I am entirely wrong on my list of suspects, i would take Mrs longs version, and Mrs maxwells, and place the killer at around 50 years old, around 5'6 tall, and quite stout, and proberly worked at the spitalfields market.
Case closed.....
