I have always wondered why Jack The Ripper only competed 6 murders from August thru November of 1888

Hi Spidey,
The popular school of thought is that JTR killed only 5,
Nichols, Chapman, Stride, Eddowes, and Kelly. (The C5)
Others have suggested that Tabram was also a JTR victim.
More recently suggestions have been made that rule out some of the commonly accepted C5 as being victims of domestic arguments.
It's a minefield, with estimates from 3 kills upto 30!Regards Mike

Anyway, I don't think this thread was meant for frequently asked questions about the case itself so maybe Spiderman ought to have posted this under General Discussion.

Some ripperologists claim that Liz Stride was the victim of a domestic attack from Michael Kidney, and therefore not a victim of "Jack the Ripper".Regards Mike

Indeed, Mike. That's better.
And of course Kidney was ruled out as Stride's killer by the police at the time - for what today's domestic theorists consider that's worth.
