    Ten Bells

I visited Whitechapel the other day and thought I'd have a cheeky pint in the Ten Bells for the sake of it. I was rather surprised to note how small it was.
I know there is an upstairs for 'gigs' etc but downstairs was just box shaped and rather small.
Has it always been like this? I was always under the impression it had a back room or the like.

Not sure about a back room, but I believe the bar was against the far wall as you come through the door, back in the day. Also you'll find if you visit other pubs within the area there all pretty much the same size. The only ones I can think of that are bigger are the Duke of Wellington and the Blind Beggar.

Ah Cashews, my favourites (not the Stride variety).
