  • Hauntings associated with the Murder scenes?

    Hi,

I was wondering given the brutal nature of the crimes commited by JTR, has anyone ran into any websites or books that might be dedicated to any paranormal activity at these sites?

Has anyone seen any photographic evidence of such or perhaps heard an evp taken from the sites? Has anyone had any personal experiences at the murder scenes?

I have read a few lines dedicated to the Old Truman Brewery which now covers the murder site of poor Anne Chapman. Very briefly mentioning a woman's screams being heard coming from what is now the storeroom at the brewery, nothing more than that and nothing in detail...such as frequency of the sounds being heard etc..and of course so much time has passed that if it is indeed screams being heard, they could be from an unrelated crime or even from an unrelated event.?

I have also read that on occasion the body of Catherine Eddowes has been seen lying in Mitre Square at the location of where it was discovered..

I have found very little else on this subject. It really does fascinate me to think of the land that a modern car park now stands on was once 13 Miller's Court which has been scarred with such violence and yet remain unscathed by it's gruesome past.

I mean no disrespect to any of the victims or to anyone who may see my question as being silly. I have a deep interest in the paranormal and while some may believe and others do not, I try and respect all avenues of belief.

I do appreciate your tolerance and patience with me.

    Sincerely
    GoJo65

Phil's never around when you need him.....There was a thread on this a year or so back...Try a search on Hauntings...When My Dad worked at Spitalfields, there were stories about the Fruit Exchange built on the site of Miller's Court.

Hauntings associated with the Ripper Murders...

Thanks ever so much! There are so many layers to JTR from the actual on going and never ending investigation and speculations to the paranormal aspects associated with the case, one can be easily overwhelmed.

I do appreciate your suggestion and will go searching on the net and see what I can find.

      Thanks again,

        Steve,

Is the fruit exchange still standing? That's one of the buildings opposite or down from the car park right? Has any one done any photo work down there at night? I suppose that area would still be pretty creepy even today...

Do you remember any of your dad's stories?

          Gojo,

Phil Hutchinson and Mike Covell are your men. Also, try and get a copy of Peter Underwoods Jack book, it covers the ghost angel.

I personally had 2 experiences. I wont bore you with them. And no, Im not a believer.

            Yes,it's still standing(I think...)
It was more a case of 'feelings'.....But everyone knew what had happened there....So maybe there was a expectation?
Underwood is not the most......reliable of writers(Sorry,Monty....)

Youre right, he isnt. However he does include most of the associated ghost yarns.

              And yes, its still there.

The February 2000 issue of Ripperologist (No. 27) had an article by Bernie Brown about the Frances Coles murder. It was titled 'My Funny Valentine'.

Brown wrote: "Many locals believed the arches to be haunted." It's important to note that he used the past tense "believed" and apparently referred to all three arches, not just Swallow Gardens. It would appear that any haunting, if it happened at all, didn't involve Coles.

                  Hi Gojo

yes there has been work done on the paranormal and JtR. some might say of course that the paranormal was tied to the Ripper investigation from the start through medium Lee's. However such things rarely bring anything of any reel substance..

I''m a Sinical old Pirate, however my veiws are based on experience not crap web sights like 'bad psychic'. And although I have never experineced anything super natural myself, I remain 'open minded'.

So why am I answering your post? you ask your self?

Well I did spend five years making psychic TV, and also produced a psychic investigation into the JtR murders. I also researched most of the phenomina associated with the Ripper murders.

There have been a number of books ascociated with JtR. The most famous of which is probably Pam Balls book on the subject.

And yes there are a number of reported ghost sitings connected to the ripper.

The leading expert on such things is a guy called Richard Jones. He is an expert on Ghosts, ghost stories..and also Jack the Ripper, so check his site and email him. He will give you the best information of anyone on the subject. Go do a tour.

Most psychics will tell you that they get very little information from graves or murder sites..the best information comes from living people or decendants..which is why, with the help of Neil Sheldon, i arranged a psychic reading with one of the decendents of Cathrine Eddows a few years ago..

As with all such things it was inconclusive (depending on your view point) Neil thought it not that good, I thought it (for a psychic reading) quite good..(but then i'm sinical)..however he got some stuff right..name wise..and some stuff wrong..that is the way of psychic readings..anyway the psychic was probably the best there is..(I know cause I've worked with most of them) And he wrote a chapter in his last book..

His name is Tony Stockwell..and as far as these people go I can say Tony is genuine, a cool person, and interesting..psychic wise...so perhaps check him out....

I'm happy to answer any questions but must explain that in five years of investigating such events, UK and Europe, I never once experienced anything more than a couple of strange coincidences...

And I've never seen a ghost, even though I've done all-nighters in Britains most haunted places..perhap's because it was work? who knows...

I'd recommend you stick to more logical investigation, psychics are like chinese food, they never fill you up and leave you excited and wanting more.

                  all the Best

                  Pirate

                    much ado about nothing

I remember seeing a horrible episode of "Most Haunted" where absolutely nothing happened. Of course that didn't stop Yvette from shrieking every two minutes and staring around with her luminous eyes. I'm of the opinion that there are lots of paranormal things going on in that show (not really), but Yvette covers it up with her screams and leaping about.

Glad to hear that, Pirate Jack! I personally would love to be involved in some on the spot "investigation", basically just hanging out and seeing what happens. But no screamers allowed!

                          Hi Pippin Joan,

                          Welcome to the Casebook.

Those Most Haunted folks are the scaredest paranormal researchers I've ever heard of!" Those luminous eyes are pretty scary themselves.

I've heard of several specters that haunt Dutfield's Yard complaining that it doesn't look like it did in 1888.
