(with apologies to Peter, Paul, and Mary): "PIERRE THE MAGIC POSTER"
Pierre the magic poster
lived in Cyber-space,
and frolicked in Victorian fog,
on a site called Casebook.
Many posters loved that rascal Pierre,
they brought him clues and clippings,
plans and other fancy things.
Together they would sail from thread to thread,
and when debunkers called,
Pierre roared out his mighty song-- "I know the Name, I do,
but I cannot tell it yet!"
Then one gray day it happened,
the posters came no more,
Pierre, that mighty Poster,
ceased his metaphorical roar.
His head was high, for he said,
"I cannot be provoked!"
At least Puff were real.
Not like ole Pierre.
G U T
There are two ways to be fooled, one is to believe what isn't true, the other is to refuse to believe that which is true.
Pierre and the Casebook went to see
If they could solve the crimes.
They wrote some books and made some money
In five pound notes and dimes.
Pierre looked up to the stars above
And sang to a small cadet:
"I know who dunnit, I know who dunnit,
I just can't tell you yet!"
