Looking for the provenance of two tracks apparently related to the 'From Hell' S/T
Howdy. This query is only marginally related to From Hell and not at all related to the Ripper, but I figured that this forum is easily the best place to ask about this sort of thing.
Marilyn Manson contributed the closing track to the film From Hell, the "Wormwood" remix of his 2000 single "The Nobodies". However, two snippets of songs labeled with the titles of pieces from the From Hell orchestral score, "Jack Eats Dinner" and "Compass & The Ruler", have been floating around the Internet in various forms for thirteen years, and are advertised as being from the From Hell soundtrack:
"Compass and the Ruler" is a demo intended for Marilyn Manson's aborted soundtrack to the film From Hell, recorded around the same time as the album Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death). A portion of the song was released in a low-quality fifty-second recording in a podcast, placed back to back with another demo titled "Jack Eats Dinner". Along with these demos was released a low-quality one-minute recording of a cover of Wes Montgomery's "Little Child", and a fourth song in high-quality, a cover of Charles Manson's "Sick City". "Compass and the Ruler" takes up the remaining 31 seconds of the podcast file, also containing "Jack Eats Dinner".
