  • Could Alice have fought back.....

.... and if yes, could that explain why her murder wasn't exactly identical to the Ripper's 1888 murders? This only applies if her killer was Jack obviously. If Alice had fought back and he dropped the knife in the struggle then he may have killed her in different cirumstances. Her throat wounds were stabs rather than slashes but maybe this was done in somewhat haste. If the knife had been dropped duringa struggle and he only had his left hand free to use the knife then this woud explain the difference in the wounds. Im not saying this is what I believe but it could be a possible reason that Jack's killing of McKenzie (if it was Jack) was different from the earlier killings and was more reminisant of Nichols' killing.

    What are others thoughts?
    Best regards,
    Adam

    Hi Adam

There were certainly bruises to her chest so perhaps she did struggle whilst her throat was cut. But no bruising to the back of her head, like the C5, but unlike Coles and Tabram.

The cuts to the throat were two stabs, but the stabs were were drawn forward like a cut in the same wound.

Possible reasons for the differences in the wounds could be due to a smaller knife, and the clothing was notably tight across her abdomen.
