The Parable of the hungry man.

Obama would give you a fish, tell you not to mention it, and enjoy the fish.

Trump would give you a fishing rod, tell you the hell to go catch some fish, insult your wife and call your country a S*******.

that's why: "President Xi of China, and I, are working together to give massive Chinese phone company, ZTE, a way to get back into business, fast. Too many jobs in China lost."

Apart from that, you are actually right in saying that in an interconnected world, jobs over there depend on jobs over here and vice versa. However, this is not what Trump run on and you know it.

I guess we can then all be relieved that there will be no 30% tariff on BMWs or Mercs as there are over 100k American Jobs dependent on the German car industry (https://www.politico.eu/article/germ...0000-us-jobs/).

And Trump actually kept his promise. I don't have the words to fully express how this makes me feel.
Well, you know why they did that, no? American Politics is all about securing voting blocks. All candidates need to be pro-military, pro-Israel, pro-guns, etc just to be able get money from the pacs and be able to run. Your system is broken and needs fixing. On the point itself, the candidates should not have promised it fullstop. It was the right decision by all of them to keep the issue on the table in lieu of a lasting peace deal in the middle east. By taking the issue off the table and throwing her entire weight behind Saudi Arabia (who btw, don't even allow elections), the US vacated the position of independent arbiter in the middle-east. Let's see who fills the vacuum....

"A mere 72 hours after the Chinese government agreed to put a half-billion dollars into an Indonesian project that will personally enrich Donald Trump, the president ordered a bailout for a Chinese-government-owned cellphone maker."

I think they call it "pay to play." The swamp is deeper and dirtier than ever and it isn't even very well hidden.

Ok, so it seems that ZTE were sanctioned by the US last month because they had violated sanctions against Iran in 2012 and against NK more recently. So we know that Trump is in favour of sanctions against Iran and NK and he has threatened allies like the EU with sanctions if they trade with Iran after the US ripped up the Iran Nuclear deal (and imposed new sanctions). So with this in mind, there seems to be only one logical explanation: He is flip-flopping on his own position if it benefits him personally (either financially, reputationally, or both). Besides, the US military considers ZTE a national security issue which in the past would be the cause of numerous "Lock Her Up" chants.

If it walks like a swamp and quacks like a swamp, then it probably IS a swamp.

Trump's change of heart towards the Chinese phone company may be tied to his own business project for a resort in Indonesia, to which the Chinese government has loaned money. It is now in his best interest to see that China's economy flourishes.

The BBC is reporting on more corruption and pay-for-play in this administration:

Trump lawyer 'paid by Ukraine' to arrange White House talks

"Donald Trump's personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, received a secret payment of at least $400,000 (£300,000) to fix talks between the Ukrainian president and President Trump, according to sources in Kiev close to those involved.

The payment was arranged by intermediaries acting for Ukraine's leader, Petro Poroshenko, the sources said, though Mr Cohen was not registered as a representative of Ukraine as required by US law.

Mr Cohen denies the allegation.

The meeting at the White House was last June. Shortly after the Ukrainian president returned home, his country's anti-corruption agency stopped its investigation into Trump's former campaign manager, Paul Manafort."

At some point Trump is going to have to be judged on his results...any Hillary fan who says this meeting would have been possible is deceiving only themselves.
