They are unbearable to share an island with at times.

But well done England....good way to do it too...buried a few ghosts.

Hi Abby,

I felt physically sick just before the penalties were taken but I'm so glad I braved it and carried on watching!

I'm always giggling at the names of sportsmen. I turned to my long-suffering better half during the match last night and told him that Stones had a sister in the crowd - name of Cherry.

And a cousin called Kidney.

But my favourite giggling-inducing name has to be the Russian cyclist, Vladimir Karpets.

Love,

Caz

Apparently retired now but if he makes a comeback you'll be seeing headlines like "Karpets fitter."

They might be less unbearable if your lot stayed up your end of the island instead of coming down in your droves to be politicians or football team managers.

lol. hi Caz

in the states "stones" is slang for balls, cajones. as in bravery. "Hes got major stones going after that big guy."

I had a friend in college who was a scrapper, not afraid of anyone, and his nickname was stones.

every time the announcer said his name it cracked me up.

its just such a cool funny name. "Stones". hahahah

Same as Welsh - "cerrig" (stones) is slang for balls. The polite word is "ceilliau", which shares a linguistic ancestor with "cojones".
