Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe may be moved to a normal jail
The serial killer is no longer thought to be mentally ill, according to psychiatrists.

Peter Sutcliffe is not mentally ill and should be moved out of psychiatric hospital, doctors claim.

The Yorkshire Ripper, 69, has been recommended for a transfer out of high-security Broadmoor hospital into a specialist prison unit.
The final decision on whether to move him will fall to Justice Secretary Michael Gove.
A Ministry of Justice spokesperson said: “Decisions over whether prisoners are to be sent back to prison from secure hospitals are based on clinical assessments made by independent medical staff.

Honestly, he's 69 years old, and if the reports are correct, immensely fat and wheezing. I don't think he'll be much of a threat to anyone.

he'll go off his meds to get back to the hospital. And he will be dangerous then. He's probably dangerous now, but with reduced stimulation can handle himself pretty well. Guy three cells down snores, he could have a radical resurgence of symptoms. Schizophrenics and crowds don't do well, even when highly medicated. There's no point in moving him unless he is motivated to move. And he isn't. He'll be back in a matter of months.

Like I was saying on Howards forum, it was his wife Sonia who was legitimately diagnosed with schizophrenia. Sutcliffe was familiar with the symptoms, and when the time was right he played his hand, and played the psychiatrists to write what he wanted them to write.

He's a master manipulator, nothing has changed.

I don't think it makes much difference where he is held as long as he is never set free.

He killed at least 13 women and possibly more. He attempted to kill at least seven other women. Those are not the actions of a sane man. Regardless of whether or not he still represents a danger to others, he should pay for his crimes with his freedom.

Personally, I think he is still dangerous. He is very self-obsessed, vain and, it would seem, remorseless.

It may be, but it's also kind of astonishing how often schizophrenics find each other. So it would not be weird for both husband and wife to be schizophrenic.

Also the reason so many schizophrenics go off their meds so often is that the meds are effing miserable. Like being high as crap with none of the good feelings. Like your thoughts are in a major traffic jam and your body is trying to pass out all the time. So lots and lots of schizophrenics absolutely choose jail over being med compliant. And they do it knowingly. Sutcliffe is med compliant. It may even have a lot to do with how dumb and selfish he sounds about not wanting to leave the hospital. And he might be choosing the chemical restraints (because that's what these medications are) over jail because he's playing the system. But he's suffering for it. The odds that he is in the 8% of the population that has no ill effects from these drugs is pretty slim. And maybe he needs them. Maybe it's not a game. But I've been on those medications. And if you offer me meds and cushy hospital or jail, I'll take jail every time. Not everyone would, but almost no one is on antipsychotics and kicking back and laughing about it. They really are effing miserable.

So either way he suffers. I'm not worried about it.

Couldn't agree more, except I think the reason he conned some people is not because he's some master manipulator, but because he had willing ears lending a hand - those willing ears being people very quick to excuse the most ardent and extreme criminals without much thought for the victims and their families. The truth probably is that he didn't con anyone, because the people who championed his supposed insanity are people who have a vested interest in 'rehabilitation'.

This bloke was never 'insane', and not necessarily evil; but certainly a psychopath with no regard for another human being to the extent he inflicted extreme violence upon another person - and consequently he should have hanged no questions asked.

Personally I don't care as long as he is watched like a hawk by the prison guards.

On the other hand, why not have him share a cell with Ian Brady, making sure it is small for just one prisoner, and pushing in two knives as the door is bolted.

British serial killer Peter Sutcliffe has died in hospital aged 74 after contracting Covid-19, the UK Ministry of Justice said Friday.

The death of the killer of 13 women will bring "some closure", says the son of his first victim.

Peter Sutcliffe, who murdered at least 13 women, is understood to have refused treatment after contracting coronavirus in prison.

any second now, we should see Rudy Gulliani proclaim that he has sources who are willing to testify that Sutcliffe was murdered by Prince Andrew because he was about to blow the lid on a paedophile ring implicating Joe and Hunter Biden. Aaaany second now, in fact...
