Thanks David, Chris and Tom, so John Morgan Evans must be the Morgan Evans in the London Hospital register. My dairyman turned sour then

Rob

yes, well done Chris, David, Tom...although Tom could have mentioned the name John earlier on!

...and well done Rob for finding the guy in the first place!

I thought it might have been John but wasn't sure. Seems I came across that. I burned my bridges with the grandson of Morgan Davies by mentioning the Ripper connection before I was granted access to the archives. Someone else might want to contact him and try a different approach? He's a lawyer. But somewhere on the web is an inventory of what's left of Morgan Davies' personal papers and somewhere in there an Evans is mentioned, which means this item still exists in the archive. Word to your researcher.

Yours truly,

Tom Wescott

Hi guys
I have started a new thread about Davies - his daughter married a very prominent politician
http://forum.casebook.org/showthread...4759#post14759

Tom the niece named Evans is included in the 1891 listing for Davies a copy of which I posted on the thread above

He was there after all under the name John Morgan Evans

Debs, yes there was a Dr Morgan Evans in Wales....but then there'd have to be! He worked on a Cardiff murder around 88 I think.

Sorry Debs, it was 1890.

From Western Mail Nov 13th. The whole article is rather long.

Cheers Robert, I'll check that out, I must have missed the full stop after the Dr bit when I looked!

Hi Debs,

If you - or anyone else - has a Welsh (language) Ripper-related article you need translating, please don't hesitate to PM me, and I'll gladly oblige.
