    Hi Jon,

I can trade you Arnold and Thick, if they're of any interest to you.

        Hi Jon,

Seeing as it's you, have 'em for nothing.

I've got two addresses for Supt. Arnold—both close to the police station. Double-checking, I see that neither are for 1888. Sorry.

The first is 1881. He was living at 14A Arbour Square with his wife, son, three daughters and two adult step-daughters. His youngest daughter was eight-years old.

The second is 1893. On retirement Arnold and his wife, Mary Ann, were living at 36 Arbour Square, Stepney.

I'll keep digging for Thick. Also, I've got an early address for Spratling somewhere.

A definitive 1888 address for Abberline would be useful. Had he moved to Clapham by that time?

        Regards,

        Simon

          Thanks Simon

Could do with the others when you get around to them, esp, Thicke and Spratling please.

Regarding Abberline, I`ve gone off your earlier post stating 41 Mayflower Rd Clapham - I haven`t seen anything else for his address.

            Hi Jon,

I picked up Abberline's Mayflower Road address in the 1891 Census. He later moved about four hundred yards up the road to 313 Clapham Road.

Here's John Spratling from 1881, when he was a Sergeant.

He was living with his wife Emma, son Herbert J. and lodger Eliza Staufeldt at 10 Scarsdale Terrace, London, Middlesex. I haven't been able to find Scarsdale Terrace, so maybe someone can help out here.

            Regards,

            Simon

                Hi Jon,

This link will take you to William Thick's 1893 Pension Form.

BTW—No 'e' on the end of Thick.

For discussion of general police procedures, officials and police matters that do not have a specific forum.

                Regards,

                Simon

Some photos to enliven the day:

Abberline's Mayflower Street home (assuming the numbering has not changed):

Macnaghten's longtime home at Warwick Square. The numbering was very confusing but I think this is it:

Anderson's home at Linden Gardens, Bayswater:
