  • Monty:

I do know that you are NOT Jenni Pegg´s boyfriend.

Apart from that... I do not know anything about you Monty since I have never met you and I have come across you, only once on these boards.

However I have unfortunatelly met Bob Hinton, he is a loud man, he was dressed in a tatty cheap T-shirt and he was so obnoxious in our table that an American lady moved away from our table where we had been asigned to sit at the Ripper Conference in Norwich. This lady came from Boston and she gave us a lecture at the conference. Bob was with his brother, his wife and his brother´s wife. Also Peter my husband helped this Bob Hinton on his book, sacrifycing a lot of his personal time and the said Bob did not even have the decency to mention Peter in his book, but maybe that was a good thing, since the book was lousy and it wouldn´t look good for Peter or our company to be associated with lousy ludicrous books. Peter has been credited on Stewart P. Evans books and that is a privilege, since Stewart is one of the most knowlegeable Ripperologist which we have the enormous luck to have on Casebook.

Monty, I have also noticed that now Bob is calling you " Dear " no doubt that will be followed by some private email to you.

      Maria,

Miss Pegg is no doubtedly choking on her elevensis as I type, as indeed is her respected fella.

Thank the Lord you do not know me as well as you seem to know Caz and Bob, I would hate for possible legal proceedings to hinder our relationship.

As for Bob mailing me. The last time he and I exchanged mails was back in 2005, and it was regarding Gas Lamps. Other than that we havent exchanged a dickie bird.

No one mails me anymore....apart from the awesome Rob and Phil and Jakey and Debs, as well as Stewart (when I bug him) and some guy who wants me to buy herbal viagra.....thats about it.

      I have no friends

      • More Additions To Marias Got It Wrong List!

It's so amusing to sit back and see Maria add volumes more to the list of things she doesn't know! According to her I attended the Norwich conference with my wife, my brother and his wife.

Well no actually, my wife has never been to any of the conferences neither has my sister in law. As many people can confirm I always go the conferences with just my brother.

As for thanking Peter for helping me with my book this has already been covered. I spoke to Peter twice on the phone. Once to ask him how to set about tracing people living today and the other when he rang me back to say that he had not had much luck. Total time for both conversations - possibly two minutes. If I acknowledged everyone I had such a brief conversation with during the course of writing my books they would consist of nothing but acknowledgements.

As for her categorising my books as “lousy ludicrous books., fair enough that’s her opinion she’s entitled to it. Mind you it’s not an opinion shared by Richard Whittington Egan, Paul Begg, Martin Fido etc. I know whose opinions I value the most!

Look at my post carefully: I said you are NOT her boyfriend, so I got that right, right, right.

I also get those annoying Viagra adverts too and I´m not a fella ! so they have not noticed that I´m not a man. Even though my name is Maria. I have on two occasions reported it as a junk mail but it still comes back.

Well, if you have the luck to have Debra and Stewart writing to you, then you are in very good company. I have not had the pleasure of talking to Phil and Jakey yet but by the two first examples of the people you mix with the Spanish saying of... " Tell me who your friends are, and I will tell you who you are " means that you are a thoroughly respectable and serious person.
And I´m delighted that you do not have much to do with the likes of one Bob Hinton.

I´m not afraid of legal confrontations, the few I have had I have won.

          Maria

Oh dear... it seems like if Altzeimers decease must be attacking your brain Bob, since I remember being introduced to your lady friend as your " Wife " well... maybe it was your bit on the side then, since that was the case as I remember I did not like you and I spent my time talking to her and your sister in law and also to your brother who is the opposite of you.

Well when Peter rang you back he had spend a few days looking up what you had asked him to look at, at no charge at all. Now he charges 200 pounds an hour, a fee my son has imposed so that people like you, do not take advantage of him. It is very strange to hear that Peter could not help you in advising you how to trace people today, since that happens to be our business ! very strange to hear that. An a very successful business it is too , since we have the ability to trace 3 family trees in a day.

In fact, the BBC has gotten so interested in our business that they have taken the trouble to make a 15 part show solely on our business and the viewing ratings have been so high last summer that they have approched us again for a THIRD series, this time, the show will be exported to Australia and New Zealand, we had another meeting with the producers last Tuesday where they are learning how we trace the families and they will be featuring cases we are currently working on, as well as cases where the families have inherited quite a bit of money after we have worked in recovering moneys they did not know they were entitled to.

And Im not surprised you have won your share of legal battles.

Oh good ! and yes, I suppose Jenni would vomit on her corn Flakes ! She seems to have left Casebook. I had trouble getting on with her, so I cannot say that I´m missing her.

Yes, I do not shy away of what I consider worth fighting for. I can be quite pugnatious if I have to. And having won, means I got a lot of money too even though that was not the original aim, but it came as a bonus worth having ! a bit like the cherry on top of the cake.

                • Maria, are you as spoiled, demanding, overindulged, selfish, troublesome, and ill-mannered - as you seem to enjoy portraying yourself on here - in real life, or are you going to tell me to my relief that this is an act?

Who would actually say this: "And having won, means I got a lot of money too even though that was not the original aim, but it came as a bonus worth having ! a bit like the cherry on top of the cake..."

I do not have you as a wonderful paragon of virtue either. So it is best not to start throwing stones ! It might bounce back like a boomerag. I have just heard that the 600,000 billion of tax payers money has been approved to feed the fat cats in your country maybe it is time you go down on your knees and clean more houses in order to pay your taxes to the rich people who own you.

                        • Now look!

                          Please Maria- rein in!!!

I've been watching the way that this Madeleine thread has degraded during the day from work- off subject isn't in it.....it has degraded into mud slinging in a highly unpleasant personal fashion which to be honest has no place on a) this thread
                          and
                          b) on any civilised thread!

                          Please can we stop this!

People have better things to do,like day to day work etc - than to be upset by snide comments and unreferenced comments and 'research' -which- at the end of the day has nothing whatever to do with a disappearance of a child in Portugal,-where I believe this thread began!

PLEASE if you feel the need to insult/question/slander people please restrict it to PM's..the people you're attacking have friends you know- and to be honest this is NOT the place to post your grievances!
