        • These last three are my favourites....from The Appeal 8/16/1902 and an article entitled "Blackest Slum District in Blackest London - Dorset Street, where Jack the Ripper Held Forth, and Apparently is Doing Business Still"

the last one is the entrance to Millers Court or 'Blood Alley'!

          • For anybody who is interested, the link to the archive site which I've left on the search result which gave me the Blood Alley stuff.

It's an excellent site and very easy to use.

            • Those Dorset St illustrations were a great find!
The one with 35 Dorset street is the only pic I've seen looking down (well, sort of..) Little Paternoster Row.
              Many thanks for posting these!!

              • Great stuff Matt,

Jake, without taking anything away from Matts excellents posts, Chris Scott posted that image of 35 Dorset Street on Hows site.....if I recall.

                Am I wrong?

                  • To be fair to Matt, he did start by apologising for any images which had appeared previously. Excellent work.
I won't always agree but I'll try not to be disagreeable.
