  • Bird Cage

    Posting this in the hope that Debs or Robert can flesh it out a bit as I'm just too busy at mo to sort it out, but the information appears to indicate that the Cutbush family directly linked to the Cutbush family we discuss did indeed own and operate hop picking farms in Kent.

    '1840

    To be sold, pursuant to a Decretal Order of the High Court of Chancery, made in a cause Cutbush v Cutbush … some time in the month of April 1840;

    Part of the freehold estates of the late Thomas Cutbush, deceased, consisting of a plot of land, having a frontage to Union-street, Maidstone, of forty-five feet, or thereabouts, and a frontage to Wyatt-street, of two-hundred fifty feet, together with a messuage thereon erected, called or known by the name of Bird Cage House, and let in four several tenements; also of a farm and lands, called the Lime Kiln Farm, situate in the parish of Staplehurst, in the said county of Kent, now in the occupation of Mr George Burr, a tenant.

    The time and place of sale will shortly be announced
