A poor joke in the first place made even worse by being so late.

    Profound and humble apologies

No problem, Herlock. Michael Caine made a very fine Inspector Abberline, more true to the real police detective of 1888 than Johnny Depp, in my opinion!

Michael Caine has been around so long as an actor that it's hard to remember that he was once Maurice Micklewhite. The story is that he saw a movie cinema marquee advertising "The Caine Mutiny" starring Humphrey Bogart as an unbalanced U.S. Navy commander worried about strawberries.

Here we show the RipperCon trivia contest swag won by Robert Linford... The Daily Mail article about Caine getting knighted by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth in November 2000.

              Hello everyone

Here's another trivia question for y'all, and you could be in line to receive some nice vintage postcard views.

This is a trivia question I asked at RipperCon 2016. No one who attended that event is allowed to answer.

What connects east London and Baltimore?

              Good luck.

              Chris

Yes you have it. PM me your snail mail address. . . I'll send you some goodies in the mail.

What you said was close enough. I was thinking of the Baltimore Ravens (named of course after Poe's famous poem "The Raven") and the ravens at the Tower of London.

                    Holy Shnikey!
I thought it was nebulous at best-but thanks and will do!!!

BTW-I'm a huge Ravens, Baltimore and Poe fan.

Also, the bird itself is one of my favorites. My Friends neighbor growing up had one they rescued as a pet and he was soo cool. would hang out with us, come find us etc. Couldn't talk, but I swear he tried. LOL!

Ive also been to the TOL and seen the ravens there.

                    Thanks again!!

yes-but full disclosure. I'm a fan of all Baltimore AND DC area teams. I grew up near Annapolis and love both cities, so root for both.

I went to UM so root for all the Terp teams of course and also Navy.

Looks like the Ravens and Stealers (hehe) are headed for some more epic clashes this year!! : )

Yet more RipperCon 2018 loot to give away. This gentleman had a big hit in 1888. What was it??? If you are the first to answer correctly, you win the ad picturing Sir Augustus Harris, which incidentally features on the other side of the page a very nice frameable Art Nouveau-style ad for perfume. Good luck! (Gray shading on the left side of the perfume ad is an artifact because the page is in plastic.)
