These are for madhouses, the poor laws, etc. There are a number of institutions here and some links to other information. Although much of this is earlier than the relevent JTR time frame, there are also later references.

AP found the archives of Bethlehem Hospital online. However, I've just checked and the site seems to be down. I hope it's only temporary.

I bookmarked that huge chart I told you about 3 times last night, but the blasted chart did not bookmark. It kicked back to the main site and is lost in there somewhere. I have been searching for it all afternoon and am very steamed that it didn't bookmark. Sheesh.
