Correct - and thanks for posting this. The Metropolitan Police Fixed Points are listed in "Dickens's Dictionary of London 1888", a book which used to be available (reproduction) from The Works for around £3 or so (as was the companion volume "Dickens's Dictionary of The Thames 1887"). Well worth the small investment if they still stock it.
This particular fixed point is recorded as follows:
"Whitechapel-rd, in front of East London Ry. stn."
It was, as you say, covered by 'J' Division. Manned continuously from 9pm to 1am.
