  • Wow! What a Voice

I vaguely remember The Seekers from my childhood, but I have just discovered this recording of Judith Durham singing Plaisir D'Amour.

    Jeez, what a voice!

Lovely, but not as beautiful as Mary Hopkin's version

The Carnival Is Over is my favourite Seekers song. Tugs at the heartstrings every time I hear it!

Judy Durham was a great singer, no doubts about that.

Thanks for the heads up Sam.
I'll certainly check out the Mary Hopkins version.

          Cheers!

I was always a big fan of Judith Durham - I saw The Seekers at Birmingham Hippodrome on about 1968 and her voice was pure silver. I think she may well still be performing. I agree that 'The Carnival Is Over' is shiver down the spine stuff.

The other female singer who I think comes very close to Judith Durham is Mary Black, whose rendition of 'No Frontiers' is guaranteed to turn me into a wobbly jelly....

                          .....both ladies are gorgeous.
