I thought it was about time I pulled the old finger out and actually posted this up..
It's a copy I obtained via the usual channels in 2007.
Macpherson's book says "William Henry Bury's birth certificate is very difficult to read" and gives his birth date as "20 November 1859".
To me it clearly looks like Bury's generally accepted birth date of 25 May 1859. I can only assume Macpherson had an off day.
