Default J Division Fixed Point Whitechapel Station?

Saw this old photograph, noted the Bobby on fixed point. Thought it might be of interest. Not sure what the date of it is, but believe this fixed point was covered by J Division?

Correct - and thanks for posting this. The Metropolitan Police Fixed Points are listed in "Dickens's Dictionary of London 1888", a book which used to be available (reproduction) from The Works for around 3 or so (as was the companion volume "Dickens's Dictionary of The Thames 1887"). Well worth the small investment if they still stock it.

This particular fixed point is recorded as follows:

"Whitechapel-rd, in front of East London Ry. stn."

It was, as you say, covered by 'J' Division. Manned continuously from 9pm to 1am.
