I might have a Ferras and Barbizet recording for a violin sonata by César Franck somewhere. By the by, my record player went kaput during Xmas, and I'm not buying a new one for the time being.
        Best regards,
        Maria

Des rendez-vous boulot et cochon. ;-)

Thanks for the Fauré YouTube. He maybe looks a little depressive even there. I had never seen him before, only heard him.

Is he playing the Hora staccato on a Stradivarius?

Have you seen Un coeur en hiver (the film)?
              Best regards,
              Maria

I guess so. That is sure for the studio recording, dated 1968.

Ferras acquired his first stradivarius in 1954 ("le Président", 1721) and his second in 1966 ("Milanollo", 1966).

                I don't think.

Un coeur en hiver is a Claude Sautet film about violinists, with Auteuil, Dussolier, and Béart.

                    Coughing Terror

I have a plan to cough during a Stravinsky concert for what he said on Vivaldi.

                      Coughing Terror shivers a bit

Have also a plan to blow my nose during a Debussy concert for what he said about Beethoven and Mahler but on second thought he wasn't that wrong.

David, a few coughs would have improved this musical experience :

Believe it or not, Florence managed, despite being famously awful, to sell out an entire concert at Carnegie Hall. She had many admirers (among them Enrico C...

Then I'd have to throw a bomb during a Schumann concert for the stupid things he wrote about Meyerbeer in the Allgemeine Musikalische Zeitung.

Bonne soirée à tous. We're eating spaghetti and I'm saying goodbye to some people. Sniff. ;-)

Then I guess that Schumann is your favorite composer...Which I guess one can choose much worse. ;-)
                                Best regards,
