Caz, it would have to be dirty water - subjecting them to clean water for the first time in years would produce too much trauma.

I hope everyone over there that posts on this site is ok. I don't know who are majorly responsible for the rioting (e.g., blacks, whites, or whatever) but what I think it is are all the chavs are getting together and trying to jsut create chaos and disorderly conduct.
I won't make any deals. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed,de-briefed, or numbered!

Here's a thought, shoot forty or fifty more of them a night. They get mad over one? Hell eventually you'll weed the population down to the ones smart enough to stay home and do their homework.

            un British

Hello Phil, Caz and Robert. This is NOT proper British behaviour. It makes me sad and ill.

            Cheers.

Well, if not, Ally's suggestion of mass shooting could be turned into an olympic discipline damn for once I think I would start "training"

Hello Chris. Now THAT'S proper British behaviour.

Thanks, I feel a bit better now.

Ooh the PM is vowing to get tough with them, he is. Going to give them a stern talking to and a firm finger wagging in their general direction.

I live in the states and this truly saddens me about my British bretheren. I hope this gets calmed down and the issues resolved.

Hang in there and God bless.

I cannot help but think about the people of Norway and how dignified and calm they were in the face of the most terrible of events and how ugly the behaviour here is by comparison. I am deeply, deeply ashamed.

Why are you 'ashamed', Limehouse? What could/should you have done to prevent any of this, and how else should you have reacted to it?

I'm sad, but I can't change the fact that I was born and brought up in London, and I wouldn't want to. I will never be ashamed of that, any more than I would feel responsible for what has been happening in Croydon, where I have chosen to live since 1978.

I'm guessing very few of these thugs are looting book shops.
