If only our American cousins could understand the true beauty, purity and simplicity of the great game that is... "Cricket". I mean the rules of the game are really so clear, simple and easy to understand. Allow me explain...

The basic rules of Cricket, for Americans.

You have two sides, one out in the field and one in.

Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out.

When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side thats been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out.

Sometimes you get men still in and not out.

When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in.

There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out.

When both sides have been in and all the men have out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game!!!

I hope that makes it all clear...

    Best wishes,

    Hey Steady,

Yeah it seemed you guys were on a bit of a roll there for a while, until last weekend - at least you're improving, that's the main thing. Got a lot of promising young players there which is good, as you don't want to be relying on the veterans too much.

Very nervous about taking on the Swans this weekend at home, should be a good game and we should be alright given we've had the bye but after the Port Adelaide match, just not sure!

Tried to watch a US baseball match on TV the other day. Still can't understand it, haha.

Hope you've been well and talk to you again soon (jersey shouldn't be far away now!)

    Cheers,
    Adam.

Two in a row!!!!! Now we are cooking!!!! and no longer in line for wooden spoon!!!! and what a win... sorry about your match, but hey, the bye week can help....and just think in three weeks you can lose to Brisbane (I know, not going to happen but a guy can dream right?)... now.. bring on the Swans (oh you know how I hate the Swans,, a win this week will make me feel so damn good )

Weather here is starting to get hot again, guess our summer is here...perfect time for me to be house bound hahaha..my yearly vacation is comming up in a few weeks too... I'm hoping I can make it.... the timing really sucked for this surgery stuff

how goes things with you??...look foward to hearing from you

    Hey Steady,

Gutted. We got beaten by Port Adelaide last night.....PORT ADELAIDE. Probably the worst team in the competition. It's not even like I can say "oh well, we'll redeem ourselves next weekend" because we have a bye next weekend - and so begins 2 weeks of humiliation and embarrassment lol. To be honest I think the problem was that it was our home game but we sold it to an outside venue which we'd never played before, whereas Port had, and they just played to the conditions better than we did. It was a sloppy game, horrible to watch. Ah well....

The season is still young yet so I wouldn't worry about being on the bottom of the ladder, the Lions will improve throughout the year and will hopefully find themselves in a respectable position by the end of the season.

Sounds like your surgeon doesn't mince words, lol. Scary stuff indeed but at least you're here with us and no doubt you'll continue your improvement.

International packages generally take 10-14 days to arrive, even longer at Christmas time. Looking forward to it and I will keep my eye out for any Lions stuff for you.

    Cheers,
    Adam.

Adam....just finished watching the Cats destroy the Suns.... I can't believe Geelong was down by 11 at half... amazing game....

Yeah the win last week did feel good.....but we are back on the bottom rung... untill we win this weekend that is....and look at you.. 1 spot away from a finals spot!!! good on ya!

Just got word from my post office.. the Yankees jersey has been shipped, they told me the estimate now would be two weeks (I have no idea why these things take so long... I guess the USPS only shipps when they have a full load of packages...but it's on it's way)....

well I best go lay back down....turns out I was far worse off then I thought, saw my surgeon yesterday and he told me I was hours away from death.... fun stuff... I am geting better and stronger everyday... and should even be back to work in a week.. so thats a plus......

Look foward to hearing from you soon... and any other fans out there, feel free to post

It was doubly good for you, Steady - winning a game and also lifting yourselves off the bottom of the ladder. I hope it's the start of a stronger finish to the season for you guys - except for us against us again in a few weeks time, of course. It's all a bit surreal for a lot of us Tigers supporters at the moment, just hoping it continues!

Hope you're feeling better soon and looking forward to the guernsey.

    Cheers,
    Adam.

We won one.... we won one!!!!!! see all it took was for me to need emergancy surgery and the Lions got pumped up and won for me hahaha.... no more last place (for now) I almost feel like jumping... but that is a bad idea now!!!!

sad thing is.. the game was not shown here on the web site... boooooo.... but I did get to see highlights so.. thats something anyway...

been sleeping most of the days as of late so didn't see how you did this week? but the 3 in a row was nice (well 2 of them anyway)

went to the post today.. so you should be getting a package from the USA soon.... hope you like and yes.. pictures are a must ......well back to bed for me now.... talk soon I hope! and I hope all is well with you.

Ouch, very sorry to hear that you've not been well - better now I trust? I know you might be frustrated with the Lions but it's really no reason to take yourself towards the white light just yet.

Don't feel too bad, we lost last weekend too....a real downer after winning 3 in a row. It's a wonder Phyrne hasn't been on here to gloat. But you guys have definitely got a good chance against the Roos this weekend so here's hoping it can be your first win!

    Cheers,
    Adam.

Sure but you'd probably want to support somebody like India if you're going to do that, just at the moment, haha.

Heard more good news for the Tigers yesterday - we have officially passed our all time membership record - just shy of 47,000 members at present. Previous record was 46,200. I just hope we can continue - after so many years of disappointment and false hopes, it seems almost surreal that we are actually now being considered the real deal....

Again, best of luck to Brissy this weekend - would be good of you to knock off whoever it is you're playing - Bombers I think.

    Cheers,
    Adam.
