Ok...One day to go... who is your pick... will be played live here, so it starts at 12:30am on Saturday.....I am picking the cats with a 30 point victory (I know that may be a bit high.. but after watching the last two games think they can do it....just a few more goals and a few less behinds and Geelong should win easy!!)

Hey Steady,
Yep, it's crunch time now - Hawthorn and Collingwood play off tonight for a spot in the grand final next weekend, and then tomorrow West Coast and Geelong do the same....all will be known within the next week or so.
The only disappointing thing for me with the final 4 is that all 4 of those teams have won premierships in the last 5 years, it'd be nice to see another team who hasn't won one for a while getting a chance at it, even if it's not the Tigers - hopefully that's next year!
Hope all is well with you over there, take care.
Cheers,
Adam.

Lets go Cats eh? If my lions are out I may as well pull for my brothers favorite team... and hey.. they did sign Stokes to a 2 year extension... lets hope he can stay out of jail
Oh I can only imagine what it's like on Grand Finals day.... I have been to some very big sporting events in the States..... Stanley Cup Finals (Hockey), Baseball playoffs (not world series though) and several major boxing matches (including one in Detroit that turned into a riot... not fun) but wow... a finals match would be amazing!!!!
so what else goes on in your part of the world.... things seem to be calming down here a bit anyway.. hope all is well with you

Only 5 teams left in the running now Steady, 4 after tonight's game....if you ever get the chance to be at the MCG on Grand Final Day (or during the Boxing Day cricket test match), take it, it's one of the best and most surreal experiences you can possibly have....100,000 yelling footy fans....
All else is busy but otherwise well out here Steady, hope it's the same for you over there.
Cheers,
Adam.

Steady:
So the Yankees jersey can be worn with pride at the moment then?
Wasn't a particularly memorable year for the Lions or the Tigers - I DO think we've improved this year and won 3 of our last 4 games but there's still a hell of a lot of work to do before we're a genuine threat in the finals.
Far be it from me to blame the umpires for some of our losses, I will admit that I was also very, very annoyed to read that out of all 17 teams in the competition, the Tigers copped the most free kicks against them this season.....the wrath of Jeff Geischen (former Richmond coach, and a crap one at that, now boss of the AFL umpires) shows itself, perhaps!
Anyway, hope you're all well, and good luck to the Yankees.....
Cheers,
Adam.

Well, we've got about one more week before our season's over.
Well done to the Yankees (I thought Oriole was a biscuit).

Well another season down... 4-18 is not the record I would have picked at the beginning of the year but hey.. no wooden spoon so I guess it's ok
And hey... my Yankees are in 1st place again anyway.. so not all is bad in Steadmund's world of sport
I hope everyone is doing well and we can keep this thread going during the off season...

Hey Steady,
Nah the Lions will avoid the wooden spoon this year, Port Adelaide have already reserved that for themselves.....so the only way is up from here lol.
Meanwhile the mighty Tigers have won their last 2 in a row.....pity it's at the wrong end of the season when we're out of the finals race!!
Cheers,
Adam.

To quote Dorothy, "Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my!"
OK, Lions and Bears are the same, but welldone nonetheless.
Particularly the Tiges for downing Sydney and increasing our chances of a finals berth.

It was a good game between the Crows and Lions! You should beat the Gold Coast this time Steady, they are coming off a 150 point thumping lol.
As for Richmond, more of the same old, same old i'm afraid....
Cheers,
Adam.

Hey Ausgirl,
Port Arthur is a fantastic and interesting area. I haven't been there since I was a young boy (incidentally, the last time I was there was about two weeks before Martin Bryant went on that hideous shooting spree there in '96) but I remember being terrified at having to walk across wooden planks a couple of metres above ground to cross from certain parts of one building to another because the original walks had disintegrated. Certain buildings are rumoured to be haunted as well, naturally.
If you ever do come back over this way, make sure you visit Campbell Town as well - aside from the fact that it's a beautiful town and one of my favourite spots in Tassie, it's got the "convict walk" memorial.
Cheers,
Adam.
P.S. Meanwhile, it's a great day for us Tigers fans, because at the moment we can say..."Hey, at least we're not Melbourne!". 186 points.....LOL.
