“Round and round“ kinda rings a bell. I might have heard it without knowing by whom it is.
Back from the library, working on 19th century opera, which is my main speciality (a bit far from grunge!). My French colleague who's visiting wanted to take a walk through the park during a major downpour, so we're both covered in wet mud, but her laptop made it safe. I was hoping to go wakeboarding in the lake tomorrow, but dream on. I could probably wakeboard in the streets (without fins), since they're flooded up to one's ankles. It looks like tomorrow's gonna be another day at the library instead of the lake. What fun...

    Hey Maria,
Ratt was pretty big back in the 80's.I have all their cds released with their 'classic lineup'.They even have a new one out called Infestation. Never heard of 'Round and Round'?

"Moreish": Never heard of that one before. I'll start using it when in conversation with Brits. (Like “I'm feeling peckish, these biscuits are so moreish!“) Thanks, Zodiac, for expanding my vocabulary!

To ChainzCooper: I might have heard music by Ratt, but I'm not sure. As an heroin-afflicted, there's also Kurt Cobain. I know that his suicide has been commercialized to hell and back by the “MTV generation“, but I still like Nirvana. I like grunge (altered) chords! A perfect example are the opening chords for “A heart shaped box“. In my opinion, this is the perfect song to have playing in one's iPod when doing rails in freestyle snowboarding. It's slow (for concentration), but totally enhances the “danger situation“ through the altered chords in the guitar solo.(Though it's not really a “danger situation“, since I'm only doing small rails. Worst that can happen is sore and swollen calves, each time one eats up the rail.)

    Hi Chainz,

Sorry about that, I think that it must have got lost in translation!!! From English, to what Microsoft calls "American English"!!!

Moreish. Adjective. Causing one to want to have more.

    Example:-

Husband, "Don't you think that you've eaten quite enough of those chocolates?"

Wife, "I can't help it, darling, they're just so moreish!"

    Best wishes,

    Zodiac.

But from the latter came Pearl Jam, which is my favorite of all. By the way I REALLY, REALLY love “Hunger strike“ from Temple of the dog.
Robbin Crosby is another one among countless others. But unlike some of the others, he seemed at peace with himself in the last interview done before his death.I always enjoyed his guitar work in Ratt.

I've got tons of cds and been to so many concerts but honestly my favorite cd all time is Sublime by Sublime. Its a shame Brad never lived to see this album released its his crowning achievement. Every track is great and its a testament to his genius.

Cool picks. I actually saw Alice live back in September. He still has the coolest combination of stage show and songs. Good stuff

My personal favourite rock album of all time is one that (shockingly) hasn't been mentioned yet.

    Physical Graffiti by Led Zep.

Hey brummie. I got a chance to listen to the singer from After Forever's new band, ReVamp. They are pretty good, but nothing she wasn't really doing before.

I'm a current fan of that female-fronted goth metal wave--the new Leaves Eyes is really good. I do like Xandria and Delain too. Tystnaden and Elis are also current faves (although with the death of their singer, I'm not sure what the future holds for Elis). There's an interesting band called Wildpath that throw some celtic influences into the mix.

my personal top ten (but not all fitting for 'The Greatest..)
(and how can I squeeze it to 10 ?-Bob Dylan alone would have any number of candidates for me):
Bob Dylan -Blood on the tracks
    Doors -LA Woman
    Velvet Underground (the Banana one)
    Syd Barrett -Madcap Laughs
    Nirvana-unplugged
    June Tabor -Airs and Graces
Rogues Gallery -a compilation of sea shanties
Dandy Warhols -13 Tales from Urban Bohemia
Jonathan Richman & the Modern Lovers

and I'll cheat for the last one, because it's impossible to choose between Patti Smith, Eek-a-Mouse, the Clash, the Stones (Aftermath), johnny Cash,
Laura Marling, Marianne Faithfull (20th Century Blues), the Undertones...
Iggy Pop, Goran Bregovic, the Pogues, Ian Dury (new Boots)... (No. I can't do it -a tie therefore between all the last ones !
