great lists we have going here, and look foward to reading more
    Hi man

Good call on the Alan Parsons Project.
    My favourites are;
The Turn of a Friendly Card
    Eye In The Sky
    Amonia Avenue

Parsons was in such a lucky position to have been an engineer on both Abbey Road and Dark Side Of The Moon and to have Eric Woolfson as his partner and such great vocal talent like Colin Blunstone to call on.

Hello Steve.. you are so right, i dont know when or how it happened that Parsons has become somewhat of a joke as years go by.. i think the people that make fun of them never actually listened to the albums... they were so good..... and as for gettingto work with Eric Woolfson.. I feel someone should comment on how sad his passing was... and how sad it was that it got almost no coverage at all... RIP Eric.

so what other albums/bands make your list Steve?

        Hi man
Will address this shortly, but for now it's teatime!

Clue: The Beatles are number one by a country mile!

I would have to go with anything by Pearl Jam (esp. Yield or Pearl Jam ), the Sex Pistols Never mind the bollocks, Nirvana In utero (just made me think of the Ripper murders – ugh! ), any of the early albums by aussies Silverchair (just not the last, jazzy album), Donavon Frankenreiter, maybe a compilation by The Doors...
(In short, all the “girly“ stuff...)
          Maria
          Best regards,

my personal top ten (but not all fitting for 'The Greatest..)
(and how can I squeeze it to 10 ?-Bob Dylan alone would have any number of candidates for me):
Bob Dylan -Blood on the tracks
            Doors -LA Woman
            Velvet Underground (the Banana one)
            Syd Barrett -Madcap Laughs
            Nirvana-unplugged
            June Tabor -Airs and Graces
Rogues Gallery -a compilation of sea shanties
Dandy Warhols -13 Tales from Urban Bohemia
Jonathan Richman & the Modern Lovers

and I'll cheat for the last one, because it's impossible to choose between Patti Smith, Eek-a-Mouse, the Clash, the Stones (Aftermath), johnny Cash,
Laura Marling, Marianne Faithfull (20th Century Blues), the Undertones...
Iggy Pop, Goran Bregovic, the Pogues, Ian Dury (new Boots)... (No. I can't do it -a tie therefore between all the last ones !

Hey brummie. I got a chance to listen to the singer from After Forever's new band, ReVamp. They are pretty good, but nothing she wasn't really doing before.

I'm a current fan of that female-fronted goth metal wave--the new Leaves Eyes is really good. I do like Xandria and Delain too. Tystnaden and Elis are also current faves (although with the death of their singer, I'm not sure what the future holds for Elis). There's an interesting band called Wildpath that throw some celtic influences into the mix.

My personal favourite rock album of all time is one that (shockingly) hasn't been mentioned yet.

                Physical Graffiti by Led Zep.

Cool picks. I actually saw Alice live back in September. He still has the coolest combination of stage show and songs. Good stuff

I've got tons of cds and been to so many concerts but honestly my favorite cd all time is Sublime by Sublime. Its a shame Brad never lived to see this album released its his crowning achievement. Every track is great and its a testament to his genius.

                    • Sublime's good! I like the song “What I got“. Totally describes my current financial situation! It's a pity that Brad Nowell didn't make it...

yeah, a pity that he didn't manage to live longer. Heroin has been a problem with lots of other groups I like from the '90s, like The smashing pumpkins, Mother love bone. But from the latter came Pearl Jam, which is my favorite of all. By the way I REALLY, REALLY love “Hunger strike“ from Temple of the dog.
                          Best regards,

Robbin Crosby is another one among countless others. But unlike some of the others, he seemed at peace with himself in the last interview done before his death.I always enjoyed his guitar work in Ratt.
