That's interesting LTowell except that girl is more like the Frances Coles of the case. Maybe he's the guy or perhaps a halfhearted copycat. The accounts I have don't even list her as a potential victim. At least, they have him for that one it appears.

Originally posted by sdreid View PostI watched The Alphabet Killer, about the true unsolved serial murders in Rochester in the early 70s, last night. I suppose some might like it but it was disappointment to me.
I thought it had a lot of potential, but went off the rails with the madness stuff.
Interestingly, they seem to have arrested someone in connection with the real case.

'Key Largo' was on again last weekend. Bogart and Bacall. Edward G Robinson, Claire Trevor, one of the Barrymores. Black and white. Good stuff.
I am a Bogie devotee. There. You know my secret.

Guilty pleasure time.
I saw "Hysteria: The Def Leppard Story" last weekend.
I don't particularly like Def Leppard (first 3 albums excepted) and I think Joe Elliot is a complete jerk, but I thought the movie was pretty darned good, especially for a made-for-TV jobbie.

Last night, I watched Hit and Run with low expectations. Actually, it was pretty good. It sort of has a 1940s film noir feel about it.

My significant other and I saw "Coraline" last night. In 3-D.
Visually stunning beyond all words.
I'm sure the regular version is wonderful, but if you have the opportunity to see it in 3-D, do it. May cost a few dollars more than your regular ticket price, but so very, very worth it.
We're going to try and round up some friends to go with us and go a second time!

I liked the original Joy Ride too, especially since they used the voice of Jame Gumb (Buffalo Bill in Silence of the Lambs). Ted Levine has a great villain voice. You're right, the second wasn't nearly as good.
I watched Dying Breed tonight. It's set in Tasmania and deals with a group of people who go there looking for an extinct lion species. Great atmosphere and suspense, just think it was a bit compressed in that everything happened in the last 20 minutes. I really enjoy Aussie horror!

Sunday evening, I watched Joy Ride 2: Dead Ahead. I saw the original at the theater and liked it but this one is predictable.

Used Cars. It was one of Robert Zemeckis' early movies and stars Kurt Russell as an unscrupulous used car salesman.
It also has some screamingly funny commercials for the car lots in the film. "Marshall Lucky" makes me laugh till my sides ache.

Last night, I watched The Dark Knight. I guess it had gotten too much of a build up in my case.
When are they going to make a Scarlet Cloak movie?
