      Hello chrismasonic!

For the first time I started to think about the relationship of the Joker and Jack the Ripper!

      Robert, all I can do is to make a variation of a Harrison-Starkey song;

      "...All I've got
      Is their photograph
      And I know
      They won't call me back
      Anymore..."

(PS. Paint is a computer-program I used to make this compilation!)

      All the best
      Jukka

Mary Kelly, from my minds eye.

        And using this 3d model.......

To get an idea of the position of her hair/head in the famous photograph.

I haven't posted any paintings up for a while, so thought I'd shove something up. I did this one recently, but it's a big bugger, so I've taken bits out of it and blown them up, otherwise you'd need a magnifying glass to see it.

            Hugs

            Jane

              Hello Jane!

A nice piece, a bit like Rembrandt!

                So nice, yes.
But a bit like Bruegel, in my view.
                Congratulations.

                  Hi, DW,

Thanks for posting. Bruegel is a great artist, not one of my favourites, but a great all the same - not that I've got any right to criticize the old masters, but I find Bruguel a bit 'stiff' - I can't think of a better word.

His figures are all beautiful, but the whole effect is a bit 'detached' and impersonal and lacks a certain intimacy. I think that's because he uses long range views a lot rather than getting in tight to the figures so that you feel that you are looking at them from a hill, rather than being right in the middle amongst them. Not true of all of his stuff, but most of it. Still a great artist.

Rembrandt - well you don't get better than that..............

You can tell I've got way to much time on my hands can't you? Hee hee.

                  Much love

                  Jane

                    Hi Jane,
much love too, and again, I really enjoy your composition.
I love Bruegel 'cause he takes my imagination to wonderful and ideal middle-ages that never were. I have the same kind of feelings with Chagall.

                    Salut l'artiste!

Maybe Glenn Anderson will post some of his paintings (non-Ripper related from what I remember). I saw at least one a while back and it was quite good.

I wish he would Rob, Glenn's stuff is amazing - he gets such detail into his work. Maybe we should all nag him. Lol.

                            Not too Ripper-related...

...but this guy has a lot to answer for in terms of his legacy, especially the more dubious aspects of "profiling" and some Ripper theories:

The shading's a bit rough - I only had one pencil at the time! - but it's probably the only half-decent drawing I've done
                            Kind regards, Sam Flynn

                              Hi Nemo,

I just hope that woman gave the little boy a bit of the fish and chips after she'd given some to the cat!

I'm glad you liked it anyway.........

That's bloody excellent Gareth - you've been keeping your light hidden under a bushel haven't you? You've got a very delicate touch - have you got any more tucked away in the cupboard? I'm sure everyone would love to see them.
