Right on, Chris, I remember that photo!

A police helmet makes quite the codpiece.

    Hi Bunny

I'm fine. More important, so are you.

Of course, the helmets between the ankles might be covering extremely short policemen. I seem to remember Stewart saying the height requirements had been reduced a bit.

    Hi, Robert how are you?

I agree. The fact that the men are in so many different positions, with & without their helmets, makes it look less formal to me.

    Best regards, Archaic

PS: Thanks for your get well messages.

From the positions of their arms, it looks very much like some of the men at the back aren't holding helmets at all. The arms just aren't in the right positions for that.

    Questions re: Helmets

I noticed that the men seated in the front have their helmets under their chairs, and if you look closely they are being held upright between their ankles. Was there some regulation about not setting them down on the ground?
Or is it just so the helmets face forward to show off their insignia and don't tip over?

It seems a bit odd to me; I wonder why they aren't all just holding them the same way on their laps?

The fact that they are being held in different ways makes the picture look less formal to me; does anybody agree?

    Best regards, Archaic

Looks like I'm in real trouble now. I was already hiding up with my tin hat on after Ally's response - looks like I've done it now. Back to the foxhole...

PS Great to see you back.
