Some people can never be happy with an honest answer. Goodness me.
Simon answered together with other things we had been discussing. He did not know of my email problems that day. I suppose he just killed two birds with one stone.

Now. Back to my trip home from Sweden in peace.

You are seriously trying to tell me, Phil, that you wanted to ask Simon a question by email but realised your email wasn't working so you decided to post your question on this forum instead and Simon realised what you were doing and replied privately to you by email. And perhaps Scott Nelson was having exactly the same email problems on the same day.

Well great, thanks for the explanation, but like you say, it is no concern of mine and I am not the slightest bit interested.

Let me repeat my post with one addition re the question: By the way, are there any additions in this paperback version?

I note that Simon never answered this question in this forum, nor the question asked by Scott Nelson in #3 as to whether his paperback was longer than the kindle version.

I wonder if he would like to take this opportunity to explain what changes to his e-book he made in the paperback version and why those changes were made.

In answer to your revised question. Yes. There are.

In my opinion, the book does a very good job of spotting all the holes in most theories pushed forward so far.

But there is something to it that bugs me a little. Like someone saying "Jesus did not exist". I mean, there is probably an historical Jack, much simpler than the myth, who killed x number of women, and might have inspired other contemporary murderers.

Nonetheless, the elements brought to light were fascinating.

After deconstructing the book, I have doubts as to the existence of this "Simon Wood."

Seriously, this is dense but in a good way. I really am enjoying it so far.

Who the hell is Simon Wood? You'd never catch me giving this book a good review.

Finished it. A brilliantly researched piece of work. Many of the newspaper reports I hadn't read before, always good when their is new information rather than a retread of the usual.
I don't quite agree with all his assumptions, but still the best ripper book I've read since Whittington-Egan's.

Sometimes you get a discount for buying in a second format.

    I wish more offered this.

So I just got the Kindle version and will try to pick up the paperback some other time. The Kindle version doesn't have an index at all. The Kindle does have a function that if I highlight say Mary Cox, then go to notes-more-search book, every mention of her will show up. Catches references that even the best index will sometimes miss. Easier to even do that if there is and index thou.

That said, I'm enjoying it very much. I've not been reading this thread so I'm not sure where Simon is heading with this. I'm only 50 or so pages in. But an excellent read so far. I know he claims there was no JTR, but still not sure how he explains that. Looking forward to finding out.

The only positive in kindle if you ask me.
