    The Thames Torso Mystery,

    still a small group, but some well know people are there including the leading expert in my view.

    Yes, I agree, it'll be interesting to get an academic's perspective, and I'll probably buy the book as I'm extremely interested in the Torso cases. In fact, I keep meaning to post on the subject!

    I would just add that if Professor David Canter wrote a book on the subject that really would be a game changer.

    having worked in the university sector for some 35 years I could not agree more.
    However it is good to see academics taking an interest at last.

    Yes, I noticed that. He works at the University of Northampton, currently ranked 99 in the UK rankings!

    Joking apart, at my university there were acadamics who I would have highly rated, others should we say, not so much.

    I'm not surprised, Steve! Incidentally, the actual blurb for the book refers ro "means, motive and opportunity", which immediately sets off alarm bells.
