A mutilated corpse is found in a small room with a heart burning in a fire nearby (screenshot), while various bloodstained markings are found on the walls. This is yet another obvious reference (factual or otherwise) to one of the Ripper murders found in pop culture. In this case, it is in the acclaimed best-selling 2023 video game Baldur's Gate 3. In one of the game's many side quests, you discover a "murder list" written by a serial killer whom you are trying to catch. You want to find the people on the list before the killer does, but the killer is always one step ahead of you. Every time you locate a victim, the killer has already got to them first. This game allows you to role-play in many ways, including the option of being the killer yourself. The game also features many religious cultists and fanatics, a familiar element in the Ripper universe although not necessarily Ripper facts.
