Here is a version of "Ripper" in the critically acclaimed 2023 video game "Dead Space": screenshot showing a picture of it, and also what the character is holding. This is a saw-like weapon that is used to dismember enemies. This is a horror game, of course. The main goal in this game is to cut off the limbs of enemies instead of shooting their heads. You can, of course, attack the enemies' torsos to disembowel them and attain a more genuine Ripper-like experience.
Here is another weapon named "Ripper" from the Fallout video game franchise: wiki page. It exists in all 11 games of the franchise. It's a one-handed chainsaw-like weapon that is one of the strongest in the game and a fan favorite.
I think anything with the name "Ripper" in it is likely to be liked.
But gee, I wonder where these game designers got the idea for the name.
It's funny that knives are rarely called a ripper in these things.
But now we know the fate of JTR and why his killings stopped. He was so sick of all the lost royalties that he became so depressed that he took his own life.
