    Hello kensei!

I agree with you; the Jane Coram portrait is probably closest to her real outlook!

    All the best

I voted "red" though absolutely not the flaming orange that Heather Gramm portrayed in "From Hell." (Way over the top.) If people who knew her described her as "ginger haired," that's good enough for me, and though I liked the performance of Lysette Anthony in the 1988 "Jack the Ripper" miniseries I can't imagine why the naturally light brown-haired Lysette dyed her locks to nearly black to portray MJK. Makes no sense whatsoever. I would suggest looking at Jane Coram's artwork for the best guess as to what Mary Jane looked like.

I voted 'something else'. I personally see her as having chestnut brown hair.

Is this is more of the Belle of the 10 Bells fan-wanking?

She may have had lovely hair. She may not have had lovely hair. I'll bet she had dirty hair. Even the uppah clahsses did not wash their hair nearly enough in those days, nor did they have super creamy nicely smelling shampoo. That lovely strawberry-blonde/auburn mop would have likely been stinky and matted.

    Hello you all!

Here's my idea of the hair colour of MJK in colour and b-n-w!

The model in the photo is a red-haired girl called Robyn Hilton from the Blazing Saddles by Mel Brooks.

Whether she is related to some blonde with a last-name Hilton, I don't know for sure!

    All the best
