    Hi Lechmere,

I'm guessing the nearest to a church with bells would be Kelly & Christchurch wouldn't it? I'll still stick with Chapman though,

The same way the locals did--by the tolling of the church bells.

    Best,

There's no way I could watch the killer gut MJK down to her bones--unless I had intriguing reading material to block my view. Would I be allowed to snoop around for letters from her mom before the killer burned them in the fireplace? Solving the mystery of MJK's background and real name is almost as intriguing as learning JtR's moniker.

If not, I'd opt for Eddowes. I'd like to know more about the apron bit. Watching Stride would answer a lot of questions but wouldn't finger JtR for me. I'm firmly Stride out.

    Best,
    Janice

On the other hand, you might be signing up to watch hours worth of some guy hacking away at a poor woman's body. Or you might be signing up to watch the killer cuddle in bed with MJK for hours before finishing her off on his way out with shocking speed. Who knows.
    Hi Damaso

I'd pick the Kelly murder scene for the reasons you outline above, and also to see:

    - Whether the killer was somebody Kelly knew
    - Whether Mr Astrakhan existed (only possible if he was the killer, so I'd probably be disappointed there..)

Only the murder scene eh.. If i pay a little extra could i get the upgrade with the special night vision goggles ?

The intent is to get people to think rigorously about what single additional observation would be most valuable.

If we were all sickos, then the obvious answer would be Kelly, unless you are a scarf asphyxiation fetishist or something strange like that.

    Chapman

Hello Damaso. You rightly anticipate. It would be Chapman--no second thought.

    Cheers.

"you will be restricted to seeing only the murder scene and the immediate surroundings"?

With your Chapman example, do you mean we would be able to see Annie and her killer enter #29, and maybe see the killer leave, but we wouldn't be able to see the murder itself?

Same with the Kelly example; we would be able to see the killer enter and maybe leave her room, but nothing else?

    Thanks,
    Archaic

PS: I hereby psychically predict the next poster who comes along will say, "What if we see BS Man kill Stride, and he is the Ripper?"
Sorry - your view starts with the killer and the victim arriving at the crime scene, includes the totality of the murder, and ends after the murderer leaves the scene. You only see the murder scene.

This restriction is there to prevent you from seeing, e,g., the GSS or whether Long saw the killer or not, etc.

    Chapman

I, too, was tempted to say Eddowes, but I'm going to go with Chapman & 29 Hanbury Street. Just knowing the time of death would tell me a lot. I'd also get to either confirm or disprove my view that the killer found a way of preventing the yard door from being opened during the murder.

As an added bonus, if I said, "the Chapman murder", and wasn't asked which one, I could also finally eliminate Severin Klosowski!

    Regards, Bridewell.

Indeed, which is why I`d choose Coles, as I`d know Sadler when, or if I saw him.
