You say that I seem ‘rather reactionary?’ I’m actually I life long Labour voter and someone who has always opposed the reactionary attitudes of those on the right but when I see people pulling down statues my reaction is that every single one of them should have been arrested. There are ways of campaigning to get statues moved (to a museum for example) so why should it be ok to just select something that we don’t like and then destroy it. Where does it end? I only raised the point in the first place Sean because there’s a gradual chipping away going on. There’s a section in society who have decided that they are the arbiters of what is acceptable and what is not acceptable and we are tacitly letting them get away with it.
