I did not see reference to this story anywhere on the Casebook so thought I'd post it here. It seems some items belonging to Insp. Helson of J Division (a lead investigator in the Nichols murder) were recently put up for auction:
Included are some photos and info on suspect Ostrog, Helson's copies of the Dear Boss and Saucy Jacky communications, a photo of Helson (has this been seen before?), as well as this very interesting item:
"Among the items to be sold are a mortuary photo of Nichols which, although faded, seems to differ from the known photo with the camera at a very slightly different angle."
The mortuary photo is difficult to clearly see in the site's photos.
Would love to hear some thoughts on all this.

EDIT: Sorry --- Just saw reference to this was made under Ostrog.
