Sergeant William Thick, aka "Johnny Upright"

Hi All,

I get the Johnny Upright term, as it was often used by Canadians to describe a dedicated RCMP Constable.

But I read somewhere where Thick may have had some shady dealings during his career (can't remember where I read that).

Is there any truth to this?
And if so, does anyone know what they were?
