How Old was Hutchinson?

This is a research thread - which is why it's on the research forum.

I would appreciate it if everybody could stick to the rules regarding that forum.

Who can help with this one?

I've read that a) Hutchinson was 28; and b) that he was 33 in 1888.

I don't know what the source is/are for either contention - does anybody know where these ideas come from, and where I might find some sources?
